The State of Play
Brought to life by the Monash Academy of Performing Arts, MLIVE showcases the best of music, dance and theatre in a response to the open-minded and diverse Melbourne audiences. New Monash venues designed for the optimal viewer experience allow audiences to be fully immersed in the performances of both celebrated Australian talent and acclaimed international performers. The MLIVE program is a celebration of inclusivity, excellence and enterprise, heralding an exciting and accessible era for Melbourne’s creative scene.
The Work
MLIVE engaged SGY to design an engaging website through which users could easily navigate to find information about the variety of upcoming performances and book online. A key project objective was building an online platform that made buying tickets easily accessible through intuitive site navigation that prioritised the user experience. A bold and awe-inspiring venture, this needed to be equally reflected throughout the website, giving users a preview of the thrill they would experience as the curtains rise. Ultimately, as an experience grounded in inclusivity, an integral foundation of the website had to be its accessibility and relevance to a multicultural community.
The Result
Designed for optimal IA and UX while informed by analytics data and behavioural insights, SGY built a website that embodies MLIVE’s bold creativity, while making it easy for users to discover and book tickets for upcoming performances. The website’s intuitive design makes site navigation easy, allowing users to discover the diverse range of performances based on their genre and date preferences, while preemptively answering any questions users might have.
